History
and Mission
Launched
in 1982, PACE Early Childhood Education is a federally funded program that empowers
the whole family by promoting early childhood education and comprehensive family
development. As a Delegate Agency of the Los Angeles County Office of Education,
PACE Early Childhood Education each year serves 1,611 pre-school aged children
and their families at 23 school sites in the central Los Angeles, Gardena, Lawndale,
Redondo Beach and the San Gabriel Valley. PACE Early Childhood Education programs are funded by
the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

of PACE Early Childhood Education Services
High Quality Preschool

1/2 Day Preschool Classes; Monday-Friday
o
Morning or Afternoon Sessions Available
o
Preschool Classes operate August-May
o
Full- Day Programs Available in Selected Locations
Services for Children with Special Needs
Breakfast and/or Lunch for Enrolled Children
Comprehensive Family Services
Dental Services
Parenting and Literacy Classes
All Teachers Have California Preschool Teacher Permits and AA Degrees
Disability and Adult Education services are provided through partnerships with
the Los Angeles Unified School District
Dental exams and services are paid for by the program for families without insurance
Computer instruction will soon be available for parents of children enrolled
in the program
Full Day Sessions available in San Gabriel Valley
These services
are provided at no cost to families who meet the low-income guidelines and other
eligibility requirements.

PACE
Early Childhood Education welcomes donations of:

Children's Books, bookshelves, tables, and desks
o Toys, puzzles, blocks, tricycles, and balls
o Computers, Software, and Cassette Players
o Paper, pencils, crayons, and non-toxic paints
o Food (from distributors only)
o PACE also accepts donations of professional services.
We gratefully invite you or your organization to volunteer your time and share
your expertise with our program. College students enrolled in Education and
Child Development classes are urged to inquire about volunteering at our eleven
centers.

Start Family Literacy Program 
Integrated
with the PACE Early Childhood Education program, this project is built on the belief that parents
with strong literacy skills can better support their children's educational
development and success in school. It helps parents become full partners in
their child's education, assisting children and parents to reach their fullest
potential.
Funded by the California
State Department of Education, this program offers literacy training, adult
education, parenting training, parent support groups, family enrichment, and
home literacy support activities.
