PACE
BDC HISTORY & PROFILE
PACE
Business Development Center (BDC) was launched in late 1992 by Pacific
Asian Consortium in Employment, a non-profit community development organization
operating in Southern California for over 30 years. Initially the BDC
provided entrepreneurial training classes for low-income entrepreneurs
under the JOLI Program (Job Opportunities for Low Income Individuals),
funded by a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.
As
our reputation for successfully facilitating business start-ups and expansion
has grown, we have been awarded grants from the Community Development
Department, City of Los Angeles, Kaiser Foundation, Merrill Lynch, Wells
Fargo, Bank of America, Small Business Administration and others to provide
a wide variety of services to individuals launching or expanding businesses.
Our
hands-on, down-to-earth programs are free or at very low cost to qualified
individuals and businesses! Bi-lingual business counselors (English, Spanish,
Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Chu Chow, Vietnamese, Cambodian, French,
Tagalog) stand ready to assist you for all your business needs!
